Christmas Offering 2025
Event Description

Each year, wanting to reflect God’s generosity that we celebrate at Christmas, we choose a global partner and a local partner to support with a special project of their choice, enabling them to help people in their care to flourish. Our goal is to raise $30K, $15K for each. These are our partners this year:

Stand By Me at Open Arms Village in Eldoret, Kenya, is an orphanage and school that New Hope helped to found and is privileged to continue supporting in many ways. At our request, Open Arms identified a project for us this year entitled, “Christmas at the Village.” Our gift will supply all children (over 300) with a gift of clothing (very traditional), and a trip to the mall to pick out and purchase one small gift.

Our gift will also provide more than one meal over the holiday season at the village, plus a special Christmas Day Celebration meal. When school is out and children are in homes, food is often scarce. This gift will help cover the food insecurity many experience. New Hope did this project in 2024 as well and it was an incredible gift to the Village and the surrounding community. We are delighted to share resources with them again.

Refugee Care Collective is located here in Portland. 16 years ago, Megan Cegla, a Clackamas High School graduate, met a freshly displaced refugee family of 11, who had just arrived at the Portland airport. Megan felt a tug on her heart and direction from God to help. She began RCC ten years ago and since then, this organization has walked alongside 850 refugee families, helping them build a new life.

RCC is asking us to give toward a reset to the way they help refugee families find help and community. They are shifting to equipping churches to help refugee families, essentially moving from addition to multiplication! Our gift will help RCC develop curriculum, both in the form of a detailed Guide Book and video workshops, that will serve and equip churches who want to engage in this work. So many more refugee families will be helped throughout our city.

We are called to the love of the stranger and to help all people flourish. Let’s help these partners with their endeavors.
