Event Description
The Second Saturday of Every Month, volunteers from New Hope and the neighborhood meet for breakfast at 8:15, get instructions for the day, and then work from 9am-noon at a care receiver's home. The same team of 3-5 go to the same home every month in order to build relationships with people in our community who need consistent help with projects they can no longer manage on their own.
Jobs often include yard work, minor home repairs, getting things ready for the coming season, and visiting with the homeowner. We serve widows, the elderly, single parents, and those with disabilities in SE Portland. We currently serve 14 care receivers and have 69 volunteers.
