CAREGIVER WORKSHOP SERIES
Event Description

Do you help or care for a parent, spouse, child, partner, friend, or neighbor? If you do, you are a caregiver, and we’re here to support you. 

New Hope Church is providing a series of classes for caregivers, providing education, resources, support, and a place for connection. Classes are free and in person. All classes will conclude with time for group discussion. 

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Class Schedule:

September 28: Caregiving 101: Building your Caregiving Toolkit for emergencies, hospitalizations and discharge planning.  Presented by Sharon Hofer, RN, a community health nurse.

October 5: Plan and Prepare: Gain valuable insights into legal, financial, and care planning for the future, presented by Elder Law and Estate Planning attorney, Chris Ray of Fitzwater Law, Inc.

October 12: Dementia - An Overview: Understand Alzheimer's and other dementias and discover resources to support both caregivers and those experiencing cognitive changes.  Presented by Janis Jasinsky

October 19: Working with Challenging Behaviors: Learn effective strategies for understanding and managing difficult behaviors without being combative -- one of the most demanding aspects of caregiving.  Presented by (TBD)

October 26: Parkinson’s Overview.  Presented by (TBD)
