Event Description
Once a quarter, middle schoolers will meet with the N2N group for breakfast at 8:15, get instructions for the day, and then work from 9am-noon at a care receiver's home. The same team of 3-5 go to the same home every month in order to build relationships with people in our community who need consistent help with projects they can no longer manage on their own. Depending on the amount of signups, middle schoolers may be split into a care receivers home and the other half may go and serve at a local elementary school .
Jobs often include yard work, minor home repairs, getting things ready for the coming season, and visiting with the homeowner. We serve widows, the elderly, single parents, and those with disabilities in SE Portland. We currently serve 14 care receivers and have 69 volunteers.
